Formulation And Characterization Of Buccal Film Nanoemulsion Apigenin As Antidiabetic

Apigenin (4`,5,7-trihydroxyflavone) is a flavonoid of subclass flavones that have antidiabetic therapeutic activity but limitations BCS Class II low solubility 2.16 μg/L. To overcome these limitations, the development nanoemulsion formulation technology, increasing increases dissolution, absorption and bioavailability. It incorporated into buccal film for easy application direct access to systemic circulation. This study aims obtain apigenin with best characterization meets characterization. The method was carried out experimentally in manufacture nanoemulsions by spontaneous emulsification, solvent casting, 10 formulas met globule size <20.34nm, polydispersity index <0.131, zeta potential close 0mV, pH 6.23- 6.59, %transmittance 100% F10 has 29x compared p≤0.05. All films F3 having 2x faster onset release than F1&F2 86.07% diffusion 97.9333 mg/sheet. Thus, it concluded fulfilled increased 29-fold release.
